Good morning.
Please see the message below from the Local School Leadership Council Co-Chairs - Mr. Rivera, Principal, and Ms. Torres, UTLA Chapter Chair:
We will be holding an emergency Local School Leadership Council meeting this Monday, October 21, 2024, at 4:15 PM via Zoom to address an important update to our 2024-2025 online bell schedule.
After a review of our current schedule by the District, it has come to our attention that the Minimum Day schedule is missing a lunch period, and it must be updated to comply with district guidelines. The IOC - Additional Guidance for Minimum Day Bell Schedules, states:
To ensure these requirements are met, schools must schedule recess (for elementary schools) and lunch (for all schools) every day including on minimum days. This new lunch requirement on minimum days supercedes the policy which allows lunch to be served after the school day. Breakfast in the classroom is permissible and complies with Education Code section 49501.5. Elementary schools have the option of scheduling recess with lunch, with at least 15 minutes for recess and 20 minutes for lunch. New schedules reflecting the recess and lunch requirements should not change the onsite obligations of school employees
